"I don't think I have the vocabulary to properly express how excited I am for the video clip "Forced to Rock" to be unleashed upon an exepecting metal community. The video was shot in sub-zero temperatures and we were truly suffering the entire time, but I guess all great art comes from suffering. I would like to give Kim Dylla (vocalist of the band THISMEANSYOU) the biggest thank you ever for her participation in our video and for forcing us to rock. The video shoot was something I will never forget."

The Purge’ as the first song off of
Majesty and Decay to debut to the world. It is the first song on the record and we think it really sets the tone for the rest of the album. ‘
The Purge’ is an extremely aggressive and angry song that really has so many elements to it, and it is the perfect opening track as well because it takes the listener through some of the many moods and feelings contained within the album. It is a very extreme song in many ways and showcases all of the classic
IMMOLATION elements.
Lyrically the song takes the concept we started developing on 'World Agony' and expands upon it, taking it to the next level in a very extreme way. We really liked the idea behind 'World Agony,' so when we began the process of writing lyrics for the new record while in the studio, I had the title and a loose concept for ‘The Purge’ and we added to it. ‘The Purge’ is a condemning song that takes an ugly look at mankind and forces us to open our eyes and accept responsibility for our actions. It is a very dark song with lots of emotion that I think will grab the listener right from the opening notes."

SLAYER: il comunicato ufficiale del management
Come annunciato qualche giorno fa, SLAYER sono stati costretti a posticipare per la seconda volta il tour europeo a causa della delicata operazione alla quale si deve sottoporre Tom Araya.
Il management ci ha inviato un comunicato, che pubblichiamo:
"Abbiamo dovuto posticipare le date del tour di Slayer. Come molti di voi già sanno, a Tom Araya è stata diagnosticata una radicolopatia cervicale a causa dell'intensa attività live e del suo headbanging feroce durante le esibizioni. Per cui deve essere definitivamente operato. Inizialmente, Araya aveva optato per una serie di cure che avrebbero alleviato o annullato il dolore. In seguito, però, il bassista/cantante ha deciso di sottoporsi ad una operazione chiamata 'Disectomia Cervicale Anteriore con Fusione', procedura dagli ottimi tempi di recupero."
Ecco le parole di Rick Sales, storico manager della band losangelina: "Credo che Tom abbia fatto la scelta giusta, questo lo aiuterà a stare meglio. I dottori sono fiduciosi nell'operazione, per porre fine ai problemi, una volta per tutte."
Ricordiamo che SLAYER hanno quindi posticipato le date italiane a fine Giugno
