The industry may have changed vastly even since we released To the nameless dead but for a band like Primordial that resolutely goes against the grain without compromise charting at #31 is still a remarkable achievement so thanks to everyone who has supported the band through thick and thin over the last 20 years and to Metal Blade for their part in our gradual ascent since the release of The gathering wilderness. Coming from such an underdog nation as Ireland this is also a fantastic moment, we have had to work several times as hard as others to get to this point but no harm, it has given us character and the willpower to keep going regardless of what's thrown at us. Questo il commento della band:"Pretty much all of our songs takes form in the rehearsal and Bullshit and Backstabbing was no exception. It's a song with an 'up yours' mentality and fits us as a band perfectly. It's a fast track compared to the title track and we knew right from the start that this was goin' to be one of the band's favorite songs on the album. When we took it into the studio it really turned out exactly the way we wanted it to and working together with Martin Sweet (Crashdïet) and Calle Fäldt (Deranged) was really the best way we could have done for this album. Recording the guitars and bass in the studio in Staffanstorp in the southern part of Sweden and vocals in Sweet's studio in Stockholm gave us the possibility to focus on the right things while recording; a lot of stress because of a really tight schedule, but with a result that turned out really fucking great!"

And I dare to say that this is one of the strongest albums we've done, and it most certainly has the most powerful production we've ever had on any album, hands down. For the third time, we worked with Rikard Löfgren in his Leon Music Studios. We raised the bar quite a few notches in the studio - both production-wise and performance-wise, and we couldn't be happier with the result. We are not breaking new death metal ground with this album - that was never Vomitorys' mission - but Opus Mortis VIII offers diversity and dynamics that you haven't quite heard from Vomitory before. Still, this is a very intense and aggressive album in the true Vomitory tradition - all the essential signature details are there. Once you hear the opening track, "Regorge In The Morgue", you will need no further proof of that!"
